Government Childcare Benefit
Child care benefit (CCB) is available at our centre.  For those parents who work, study or are looking for work, there is available an eligibility for up to 50 hours of childcare benefit per week.  For those non-working  or non-studying parents, there is available an eligibility of 24 hours of childcare benefit  per week.

For all families who wish to claim CCB, they must undergo an income assessment by Family and Assistance Office (Centrelink).  By completion and lodgement of the Child care benefit form (forms available from our office) prior to your child starting at the centre, fees can then be reduced from the day your child commences child care.  Note:  We recommend lodgement of the CCB form in person (not post) to ensure timely processing and allocation of a CCB reference number.

Feel free to ask the centre’s Director should any questions arise regarding child care assistance.

Hygiene
Our goal is to provide and maintain a safe, clean, tidy and hygienic environment in order to minimise the risk of contracting or spreading of illnesses.  In order to achieve this we have policies and procedures in place covering all areas in the centre.

Security
Unauthorised access will not be permitted past the entry foyer.  The centre’s entry door is fitted with video surveillance, with swipe card / staff only permitted entry .  Staff are trained to handle Emergency Situations.  Should any child/ren be protected by Custody Orders, this detail is made known to staff with the safety and security of child/ren of primary importance.

Sun Protection Policy
Warriewood Child Care has developed a sun protection policy because exposure to UV radiation  (UVR) from the sun causes sunburn, long term skin damage and an increased risk of skin cancer.

We require that all children and employees wear hats and protect the face, neck and ears whenever they are outside.  Sunscreen is provided by the centre and parents are asked to assist staff in applying SPF 30+ sunscreen on their children on arrival, and the staff will implement this practice throughout the day.

If your child has an allergy to any sunscreen products, please inform our staff.

All children must wear a hat, suitable clothing, sunscreen and shoes at all times (sunny or cloudy) to be able to play in the outdoor play yard.

Quality
Warriewood Child Care has been fitted with special quality furnishings, floor surfaces (indoor and outdoor) plus handpicked toys and equipment specifically chosen to complement the Reggio Emilia Emergent Curriculum, thus providing the necessary equipment to meet the needs of children in each appropriate age group and encourage all children to learn, play, explore and, most importantly, have fun and enjoy each day’s experiences.
